"Be Our Guest" Enchanted 6th Birthday

My Daughter turned 6 this year and it made me a bit sad to think this might be the last year she lets me throw her a Princess Party, so I threw her a pretty elaborate one... to say the least.

The baking began days before the event. I made 100 fondant roses which I put on nearly all of the desserts. I made white chocolate covered apples which I spray painted with (edible) Wilton Gold Paint. I purchased bling sticks on ebay and added red shimmery ribbon to embellish it. Of course, I crowned it with a red rose.

Cake pops + sugar cookies were each adorned with a red rose. Too pretty to eat... for sure.

The crown jewel was the backdrop. I embellished an old frame with the letter B for Blanca. Spray painted it gold. I made a custom stand which was embellished with flowers in pink, red & yellow. I absolutely love the way it came together.

 I have to admit that when the customer called me about designing this theme, I had no idea what she was talking about. It was as if she was speaking a foreign language to me. Luckily, my teenage son educated me a bit and even got me to download the app and play it on my phone. By the time I finished, I knew exactly what this game was all about.

I created some custom balloon topiary centerpieces that included some wooden props featuring Disco Zombie, Sunflower & Conehead Zombie.

 

 

The custom cupcake stand stood at 4ft tall. It featured some plants + zombies as well.

 This theme took many hours of design and creation. But, in the end customer was very happy. Anthony's face as he saw me unload the care, well... that was PRICELESS!

M&M Themed 2nd Birthday Party

I must have gained at least 5pounds from working on this theme! It seems that every time I began the design process or grabbed a brush I have to reach for my very own bag of peanut M&M's. LOL

 

I created balloon topiary centerpieces to represent each color. I coordinated tissue paper and balloons to correspond each color of the M&M line up.

The crowning jewel in my opinion had to be the balloon towers that displayed the M&M's hanging off the towers. It was definitely a tasty theme.

Penelope's {Carousel of Life} Themed Birthday

Penelope Turns 1!

My customer contacted me a few months before sweet Penelope's 1st birthday. She wanted me to create a one of kind + fabulous party. I custom created everything from the balloon décor, props and cupcake stand based on Mom's invitation. 

 

Customer also sent me a clip art that she customized to look like her daughter which she would be using on the goodie bags. I used the clip art and created life-sized props.

 

 

I used the color scheme predominant in the invitation to create the balloon décor.

The cupcake stand stood at 4.5ft tall. The horses on the cupcake stand where hand drawn and hand cut. I added 14k Gold Glitter to match the glitter on the invitation. On the top I create a small version of the clip art customer sent me. The bunting on the cupcake stand was designed to match the bunting on the invitation. It also features a 360 view.

 

This theme took countless hours of designing, painting and creating. In the end it turned out amazing. Most importantly Penelope enjoyed her birthday... and that cupcake! 

 

Grandma's 82nd Birthday Party

Grandma Turns 82!

I realize this is a children's blog... however, I couldn't resist blogging about my Grandma's birthday party.


My Grandma has always been like my Best Friend. I truly can't imagine life without her in it. This years she turned 82 years old. I planned an intimate dinner party for our family in my home. Her favorite color is pink, so I purchased hydrangeas and placed them in crystal vases and silver tea pots throughout.

One of my dearest friends over at Bits & Pieces Events in Oceanside, CA let me use her beautiful doors and chandelier to be featured as the backdrop for my dessert table. I added jumbo {paper} flowers and tissue pom poms on the doors. I love the way it came together.

I ordered the desserts from my favorite Cuban bakery in Downey, CA Portos. Their catering menu features a elegant dessert sampler that featured 7 different bite sized desserts.

 

At night the chandelier gave the dessert table such an elegant look. It lit up my backyard beautifully. When the Mariachi played she sat on her Victorian chair and listened to her favorite music.

Of course, she couldn't resist getting on the microphone herself...

Nautical themes are so popular and after working on this theme I could see why. They are so fun and the colors are so captivating! Customer ordered this personalized chalkboard backdrop which made the perfect setting for paired with my balloon towers.
